Where is Bloomington, IL you ask? Here's a map link: http://maps.yahoo.com/#tt=&q=Bloomington%2C+IL+61701&conf=1&start=1 , which shows that it's about midway between Chicago and St. Louis. The Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA) is located about four miles from Bloomington (Website: http://www.cira.com/ and http://www.ifly.com/bloomington-normal-regional-airport ). Inside the terminal you'll find car rental counters for Hertz, Avis, National, Budget, and Alamo. Most people fly to Bloomington to go somewhere else, but if you're visiting,
here's a website for the Bloomington Visitor's Bureau: http://www.bloomingtonnormalcvb.org/ . As far as attractions, Bloomington is home to Beer Nuts, Inc. located at 103 North Robinson, Street (Website: http://www.beernuts.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB?PROCFUN+WORDPR01+WEBFUNC+M37 ), where you can take a tour and visit the company store. Also nearby is the Prairie Aviation Museum (Website: http://www.bloomingtonnormalcvb.org/details.cfm?id=178 ) with many nice family friendly exhibits. Lastly, you can visit the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site (Website: http://daviddavismansion.org/ ). This mansion is just as David and Sarah left it to their son Perrin Davis in 1886. The house tour is very informative, being the former home of a US Supreme Court Justice and colleague of Abraham Lincoln. Illinois State University is nearby in Normal, IL (Website: http://illinoisstate.edu/ ). As for food, check out the local Tobin's Pizza (Website: http://tobinspizza.com/ ) or go to Cheeks (Website: http://site.cheeksbarandgrill.com/Home.html ) for a cheeseburger.
